Compare CollaChews 6in Bully Collagen Rolls and 9in Salmon Flavor rolls to find the right chew size for your dog's weight and chewing style.
Quick answer
For most medium dogs, the 6-inch Bully Collagen Rolls offer a great balance of durability and value. If you have a large or aggressive chewer, the 9-inch Salmon Flavor roll provides a longer-lasting option that also appeals to picky eaters.
Size matters for safety and enjoyment
Choosing the right chew size isn't just about preference—it's about safety. A chew that's too small can be a choking hazard, while one that's too large might not be enjoyable for smaller dogs. CollaChews are made from beef collagen, a natural protein that supports joints and connective tissue, and they last up to twice as long as leading rawhide alternatives. The key difference between the 6-inch and 9-inch rolls is their length and weight, which directly affects how long they last and which dogs they fit.
Flavor and ingredients: similar base, different appeal
Both sizes share the same high-quality foundation: beef collagen as the #1 ingredient from free-range, grass-fed cattle, with a minimum 60% protein content. They are sugar-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and GMO-free. The 6-inch Bully Collagen Rolls come in a natural flavor, while the 9-inch roll is infused with salmon flavor, which can be a game-changer for picky eaters or dogs who love fish. If your dog turns up their nose at plain chews, the salmon option might be worth the extra cost.
Trade-offs at a glance
- 6-inch Bully Collagen Rolls: Best for medium dogs (20-40 lbs) and moderate chewers. The natural flavor is straightforward and appeals to most dogs. The 10-pack bag offers good value for households with one or two dogs. Choose the 6-inch if you want a long-lasting, natural chew for a medium dog without the salmon flavor.
- 9-inch Salmon Flavor Collagen Roll: Ideal for large dogs (40+ lbs) or aggressive chewers who need a bigger, longer-lasting chew. The salmon flavor can entice picky eaters. Sold individually, so you can try one before committing to a pack. Opt for the 9-inch if you have a large dog or a picky eater who needs a bigger, flavored chew.
- Feeding frequency and supervision: Both sizes are intended for intermittent feeding. Always supervise your dog with any chew and remove small pieces to prevent choking. The 9-inch roll may last longer but still requires monitoring. Supervise all chew sessions and adjust size based on your dog's chewing intensity.
